Arden University – Newcastle Campus

About The Project

As part of the refurbishment of The Spark Building, Newcastle, our electrical team delivered a comprehensive installation package covering power distribution, lighting, mechanical services, and specialist electrical systems throughout the project.

Electrical Works

The works included upgrades to the main electrical distribution infrastructure, installation of new submain cabling, surge protection systems, and earthing and bonding to ensure compliance with current electrical regulations. We installed new small power systems including socket outlets, dedicated appliance supplies, cleaner’s sockets, underfloor busbar power distribution, and specialist power supplies for security and AV equipment.

Our team also completed electrical installations for tea points, kitchen areas, water heaters, waste pumps, Zip taps, and leak detection systems. Mechanical electrical services included power supplies for air conditioning equipment, fan coil units, extract fans, curtain heaters, and associated control systems.

Electrical Installation & Modifications

A significant element of the project involved the installation and modification of energy-efficient LED lighting systems, including DALI-controlled lighting, emergency lighting, feature linear lighting, comms room lighting, and intelligent lighting controls incorporating PIR occupancy sensors and switching systems.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover

To ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance, all installations were fully tested, commissioned, and certified, including emergency lighting testing, RCD verification, labelling, and production of as-built documentation.

The completed project provides a modern, efficient, and fully compliant electrical infrastructure supporting the building’s operational and workplace requirements.
